It has been awhile, but it is not like I have been sitting around here on my hands..well, not all the time anyway. I have to sometimes sit on my hands to keep from blogging or Tweeting about all of the exciting things that are developing, but some of them are not yet ready to go. So, lets talk about the Business Golf Country Club..there are a few things to report.
MEMBERSHIP GROWING
The membership just went over 450 Live People Members. Yes, I am smiling very broadly and am exciting to see so many people who are interested in belonging to a private business/social network. Sometimes private clubs, or private anything, is looked at as being snooty or uppity as many of the hundreds of SPAMMERS I have banned from the club angrily tell me just before I hit the block button, but I didn’t come here to talk about the dark side of business networking online.
MAKE THE JUMP
Dave and my goal is once we get to 500 solid members we would make the jump..where? Well that depends on when we hit the 500. It could be tomorrow if everyone tells their friends…if so, we are not quiet ready to make the jump. Of course what I am talking about in ‘Making the Jump’ is in taking the club to the next level of business/social networking. I know, I am being a little vague but that is due to this is not the time or place to be too detailed.
There will be an email each member will receive soon that outlines where the Club is going. All I can say is..you need to get your business golf contacts, friends, golfing buddies and employees into the club now, not soon..because….well, for now it is just because.
CHAIRTY IN HAWAII
Yep, this is new so I can blog about this…
One place the BGCC could be going, or should be going, or at least a whole lot of members should be considering going, is to Hawaii to play in the Aloha Team Classic in Maui. BGCC members Stuart and Debbi Katz, are holding the 4th annual Aloha Team Classic. Stuart has contacted me to help put the word out here in the club so why not..it is a good charity cause to raise money for the youth in Maui.
Stuart also committed to me that if I organized a group of BGCC Members to attend the three day event his organization would provide the BGCC a special dinner…so, let me know if you want to go so I can tell Stuart and Debbi how many people to prepare for our own ClamBake…
The Aloha Team Classic is a Two Person Team format and is a Pro-AM. If you choose, you can play with an LPGA professional all three days or just one, or none. All accommodations are 5 Star and we are playing some outstanding golf courses..which one? Well can you say Kapalua? I can’t so you say it for me..COP-A-LOU-A Heck that is close enough, after a few Mai-Tais I’ll have them all talking Texan….:-)
The event is held on October 18 thru 21 and the entry fee is…well, it is too low to post here so click on the link and get all of the info. Then, if you want to go..let me know and we will start putting things together to have a BGCC gathering.
I am looking for sponsors so contact me if you are interested in getting some great exposure here and other places on the internet and at the event. You know where to find me..
ON THE RADIO
As a few of you know, or should know or would know if you listened to BGCC Member Alan Martin’ ‘Thumbs Down Golf Talk Show’ on GlobalTalkRadio on July 17th that I was on the show…along with BGCC Members Patricia Hannigan (@golfgil on Twitter) and Jennifer Munro. The focus was Golf and how golf is used in business and then where to go to anchor your online business golf efforts..where else…the Business Golf Country. So, make sure to catch Alan’s show this coming Friday July 31st 12N EST. Check the Club’s Event Calendar for the details.
