I get feedback nearly daily from business people who come to SyncLab Media on their trek through what seems to be a quagmire of digital marketing consulting agencies officing in co-working space.
The things we hear most has to do with the lack of concern other digital marketing agencies have with their brand image and professionalism.
The biggest concern stated is where many digital marketing agencies work. Coffee shops and cafes are great places to meet for one on one chats, but for evaluation meetings or onboarding a client!?
Having an office or a storefront is very important to a brand’s image. Even solopreneurs see the importance of having an office to bring clients into to meet or discuss business.
First Image Is Where You Work
Consumers are getting very skittish with people who talk the talk but appear not to be able to walk the walk…or as is referred to here in Texas as being all hat and no cattle.
True, there are some entrepreneurs who have pulled the “No-Office” thing off. However, for the closing of the big deals, those who say they work from their home office have access to some work center or colleague’s office they use to onboard or close their deals.
A business brand or a personal brand starts with first appearances. Consumers meeting someone for the first time in person to talk about signing off on a 6 figure deal are more than likely going to be eager to proceed if they are meeting in a nice conference room in a Class A building than they would if they are in a crowded coffee shop.
Think about getting an office when you are building your business plan or rebranding your marketing plan. The days of being an executive of your living room office are drawing to a close. Trustworthiness is now a requirement consumers have with everyone they do business with. Trust starts from the very first appearance that begins way before they see you.
Think about how your business looks from the street as well as the internet.
