Finally, I get to take a decent vacation.
It’s been five years since we have been out to Palm Springs, CA, so this time we decided to stay someplace at the epicenter of the Coachella Valley …Palm Desert.
The exact location…on the 6th teebox of the Monterey Country Club..yaeah, Baby!…Mr Business Golf is doing up right this time.
Thanks to VBRO
We picked up on a nice home for two weeks off VBRO. Yes, it is much cheaper than a resort or Hotel since…’it is ‘High Season’ out here, dude!’
Travel Is A Mess
Yes, I wore my mask. Wish EVERYONE else would so we can get this COVID-19 crap part of our lives out of the way. It is not going away until every.one…I mean EVERYONE…comply.
Traveling on Sunday sounded like a less stressful day to travel….NOT. Huge crowds at Love Field.
Dozens of people testing the mask rule…many getting away with taking their mask off and explaining they were eating someting…others NOT so luck and were quickly snatched up by plan clothes officers and snuck out the MANY doors that are up and down the lobby. I figured they planned on handling the situation like this before the ‘Smartphone Army’ could find their Video button.
Finally got on the plane. Then BAM…leg cramps ten minutes into the fight. Two and half hours of pure HELL.
Made It To The Left Coast
I’ll save you the full story of the flight to Ontario, CA…yes, the direct flight to Palm Springs was NOT CHEAP..thus why we did not take it. Plus, the BMW X3 we were renting was waiting on us at the Ontario International Airport. OH, yes, we were going to roll in style this trip…found out that makes the drive from LA out to Palm Springs NICE.
First Night
We rolled into the Monterey Country Club, in Palm Desert, late afternoon completely beat, but with the need to get basic supplies, like coffee and breakfast stuff to get us to the next day when we would do the Big Shop to stock up on ALL we need for 10 days.
So, we unloaded the car and then jump back into the Beemer to driver over to Albertsons. In the Palm Springs area all of the groceries stores have a Sushi Chef on staff…so while I was in Albertson’s I picked up a couple of spicy tuna rolls for dinner. Grab a bottle of wine and the grab the stuff we had on short list and we were back to the house we rented on the Monterey Country Club.
We got things unloaded and settled in for the night. The fun part of the vacation was going to start the next day..our first full day in Palm Desert.
Stay tuned…The report on Day One will be here soon.
