As most…if not all…of you know, I’m a long time…no, let’s make that a livelong… guitar geek, wannabe rock star.
Well, maybe I’m a little less wanting to be a rock star nowadays. Just can’t do that Pete Townsend windmill arm swing anymore. Let me just put it simply…I like Rock Music.
Just One Way I Roll
Going back to my recent blog I posted on Bad Company, I have a long list of bands I really like to listen to and…of course..play REAL LOUD. No, that is due to me being deaf..it is just how the music I listen to was recorded, so why not play it like it was made?
In recent weeks I have gone back to listening to one of my favorite bands…Collective Soul.
Yes, I know…many people (usually not musicians) think of Collective Soul as a Pop band or a Radio band and not really a Rock Band. Well, each to their own, I guess.
Collective Soul, like many rock bands in the last 30 years, has gone through a lot of changes and band members. Fortunately, Ed Roland, the clear leader of the band, has put one hell of a band together over the years.
In one of the many interviews, Ed has made on YouTube he mentioned he is 10 years older than all of his bandmates…even his brother Dean.
That would mean Ed has got a lot more experience in the music world.
I invite you to take a listen and you decide.
Anyway, Collective Soul keeps growing and putting out great heavy guitar-based rock music..all of which sound awesome turned up to 11. So check them out on Spotify or on YouTube.
Let me know how I can help.
