Stress: How to Deal With It

February 1, 2021 By Scot Duke

stressAre You Dealing with Stress?  Many workers are.

Over the past year, stress has played a big part in everyone’s daily lives.  So, How do people need to deal with it?

If stress is not dealt with, it will eventually affect your health.

I am very grateful for the stress management training I received over the 32 years I was in the corporate world.  That type of training is needed right now in every business.

Unfortunately, the business culture that has developed since the early 2000s has small to medium size businesses pushing back on providing employees training on dealing with stress.

Why?

Well, the economy has a lot to do with it.

With so many mid-level managers being laid off during the early 2000’s corporate culling the business world was flooded with overly-trained business leaders who took the path of becoming an entrepreneur.

Thus, the action of many of these well-trained executives produced a lot of small to mid-level consulting firms that had no employees to train.  This killed the Learning culture these formers executives came from.

Huge Need for Stress Training

The need today is great for training employees how to deal with:

  • Downturns in the economy
  • Economic disasters
  • Layoffs
  • Low morale
  • Death in the workplace

Stress is something business owners, executives, and leaders need to get in front of and start training their employees on how to deal with it before damage is done to their mental health.

Stress training may provide practice in behavioral and cognitive skills that allow better performance under stress, such as multi-tasking skills and prioritizing critical activities.

Building confidence in the ability to perform under stress is the goal.  The training is effective when employees develop a sense of mastery.

Take a deep breath…

and Let me know how I can help.
