Why the Old Way of Marketing is Now the New Way.

Use to be:

  • If your store was not on the main street of town you were never going to be found by your consumers.
  • If you did not have an ad in the Yellow Pages you were never going to be found by your consumers.  
  • If you did not have a website on the internet you were never going to be found by your consumers.
  • If you did not have a business page on Facebook you were never going to be found by your consumers.
  • Now, all of that is pretty much still true with the exception of being in the yellow pages that are now long gone and having a business page on Facebook that is only seen by 13-year-olds that Facebooks pays to see your page.
  • However, one thing has developed from the Old way of marketing to the new way to marketing and that is video marketing.

Ever since videos were allowed online their popularity has exploded.

Nowadays:

If you do not have a video marketing strategy your competition that has a video marketing strategy is going to put you out of business.

If you do not have a YouTube channel with a library filled with explainer videos you consumers are not going to find you.

If you do not have a profile video on your website explaining what your company does your consumers are going to your competitor who does.

If you do not have a video podcast that has weekly episodes that allow you to show why you are an expert in your industry you consumers are going to find one of your competitors and make them the expert in your industry.

The Old Way of Marketing that featured ‘Hope’ as the keystone of the marketing strategy has in 25 sh0rt years mandated video marketing as the centerpiece of a business’ digital marketing strategy.

Why Video?  I wrote on Why Video was a Must for businesses.  The only thing that has changed since then is the COVID-19 pandemic forcing everyone to take shelter and do all of their business online.

So, if your business is to survive it will have to have videos and a lot of them.  More importantly, the videos have to be produced of high quality before your consumers will bother.
