Video Marketing: Post COVID-19

Really? Do you have to ask?

Why do I know video marketing will be the most important business tool you can have once businesses return to work after the COVID-19 shutdown?  

Here Is Why!

I am fortunate to be in a position where I get to live and breathe videos…video strategies…video development…video production. 

If there is a new digital media out there that has a frame rate I am into it.  If I am not familiar with it..I study it..test it..test it again…have someone I know to test it…and then if it is worth anything I’ll bring into the SyncLab Media production line and put it to work for one our in-house productions so to get our survey group’s opinion.

Word On the Street Has Changed

If whatever I was testing is not any good…well..you know I will be very vocal about not using it…or if I have nothing to say about it you can bet it is not something I would suggest you use.

But enough about how I know video marketing is the strongest business tool you will ever have.

The question I have for you..the business leaders of the world…is, why are 45% of you STILL not using video marketing?   And why are 90% of that 45% choosing to waste your budget on attempting to initiate your own video marketing?

The Good News

I can take from my survey that the good news is more business leaders are finally getting it.   They are using videos to market their business. 

What concerns me are the many marketers who are still don’t get that the consumers who went home during the COVID-19 shutdown, have changed their viewing interests.

Yes, in just three months, millions..if not billions…of people were stuck in front of their computer monitor, or cable TV.  What were they doing?   Watching videos. 

But not watching just any kind of videos…they became quickly have moved quickly to only watching the higher quality produced video.  They watched ONLY Videos with well-written concise content, great lighting, clear audio and..gasp…focused camera that shoot only in landscape.

Why?

If you were stuck at home and have a lot of time on your hands how would you want to use it? 

Surely you are not going to strain your eyes and allow someone to insult your intelligence by watching nothing but cellphone videos!

My Survey Says!

From the survey I made recently, I found that the people (36 of them from around the USA) I know who stayed at home during the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown all eventually gravitated from watching network TV, Facebook, Twitter (yes, even Tik Tok) to watching YouTube videos or even better.. OTT’s (like BINGENetwork) episodic series of videos.

I said “eventually” because all of the people I surveyed started watching everything.  Including moronic low-quality produced videos that other shut-in people were making in their living rooms in hopes the video would go viral.   

Of course, 35% of the video viewing was for entertainment purposes leaving a whopping 65% of their daily viewing was for shopping…looking for things they needed to survive..either for business or personal use.

That’s Why!

So, you ask how I know video marketing is going to be the most powerful business tool you can have?  Guess the proof is in the friendships I have made over the 25 years I have been out here in La-La-Land. 

My suggestion to all you business people out there..small or big…B2C or B2B…would be to search out a dependable, experienced video marketing consulting company like SyncLab Media and start TODAY building your video marketing strategy.   

And remember to fight that urge to produce those self-made videos with the thought that they are ‘Good Enough’.  Consumers can read that message you just sent to them as “that is the best you are going to get.  So deal with it!”.

I know that is not the message you want to send..but it is what you are saying to them.
