Yes, it has been a while since my last post.
You would think with being locked up away from the action of a very social lifestyle I would have plenty of time to report on all that was going on that was worthwhile.
The keyword here is…worthwhile.
Believe me..I looked really hard to find something these past 8 weeks worth telling you about.
OH, I could have flooded my blog site with COVID-19 reports. But, would that have been worthwhile? The problem of reporting on the COVID-19 pandemic was the time it takes to Fact Check what is being said.
I think we can all agree with the information we all are getting…and still getting… is somewhat incomplete. So, the frustration of writing anything recently is by the time I get a sentence written on the information I was writing about it had changed three times.
I could get into the politics and rumors going around, but again…you have probably heard them all…and if you have not…none of it matters…because it is politics and rumors…and not worthwhile!! Right?.
It’s Time To Get Real
I think we also all can agree that it is time to get back to reality which means us all getting back to doing business…or what business there is left.
To say the business world has changed over the last 8 weeks is a huge understatement. From what we are dealing with here at SyncLab Media I am wondering if we can even refer to “business” as being business.
Business: Definition
“…the practice of making one’s living by engaging in commerce.”
We were fortunate to be certified as an “essential business”, meaning we got to stay open for business and not shutdown because we provide LIVE Streaming video services for religious and non-profit organizations.
Still, this weekly activity was not enough to pay the bills.
So, we fell into what has been casually referred to as being part of a “nation of beggars”… all the businesses who lost over 85% of their business revenue when the world sent everyone home. This sent the economy into a tailspin…meaning…
- nobody was spending any money on marketing their business
- nobody was spending money because they were not making any money
- and everyone needed funds from the goverment…or, someone…to survive.
Is It ALL Over Now?
Nonetheless, it is time to get back at it…or is it time to rethink what it is we are all doing?
It is a safe bet rethinking is something I have been doing a lot. Sometimes I was rethinking what I am doing, but mostly over the past 8 weeks, I have been helping business people rethink what it is they are doing to market their business. And..believe me..they needed a lot of rethinking.
Going back to the statement..all things have changed... that goes for how businesses are marketing.
Once things get to the “New Normal” or the new way to do business after the COVID-19 shutdown, the way businesses are marketing will have to include videos…and a lot of them.
AND…I am not saying this because I consult on video marketing and I am an executive producer of 6 video podcasts. I saying it because…it is a Fact, Jack.

So, that is about it…well, not really. That is about all that is worthwhile talking about and has been going on since my last post.
Hopefully, my next post will have more meat on the bone.
