Well, here it is again, Sunday. My day I kick back and blog to you…my followers.
As I have clearly stated many times and will repeat stating it from time to time, what I blog about is something I am experienced in. I consider what I do here as my contribution to the Internet and the content my gift to you.
What Did You Contribute to Life Today?
Life nowadays, for a large majority of you, touches the internet at some point during your daily routine.
I am certain not many of you can actually remember what it was like before online social networking.
Those of us who do know what life was like before the internet actually find it refreshing from time to time to step away and unplug from access to what can seem like at times taking a walk through LaLaLand.
Breaking away from the internet periodically to experience what life is like with the internet is something I highly recommend.
I’ve been out here now for over 20 years and it took me 15 of those years to realize that being out here every day was not serving me a true purpose. So, for the past 5 years, I take at least two breaks a year to get away from being here to go back and enjoy the other things in life that the internet takes away.
I do things like taking the time to talk to real people while playing a round of golf….something I recommend everyone do. You will be totally surprised what Real People..not people here on the internet…will tell you or teach you.
Good To Take a Break
Coming back from taking a break from being on the internet daily makes being out here talking to you through my blog worth taking this time out of my life writing it all down.
I take breaks and unplug from the internet because I have a lot to contribute to your life and I don’t want to burn out before I finish making my contribution.
Not many of the people who use the internet daily can say that.
OH, they will try to say they are making a contribution, but what they are really doing is wasting their time in life…and yours.
I could list a few dozen examples of people, places and things who have wasted a large part of their lives out here and made no contribution of any real value but that would just be a very small number of the billions who are misusing the internet.
Yes, I know what I am contributing to you right now is a little rambly and runs on the edge of being a rant and for that, I apologize.
So, let me provide you more context to my contribution.
In general,
- I read, using the internet, on average 12 articles a day.
- These articles range from business operations issues I find on LinkedIn to the problems many of the shared workspaces, formerly known as co-working spaces, are having. I also will dig into the issues golf has with businesspeople playing Golf as a business tool. Being in the video marketing consulting business I’ll dive into a lengthy review on the latest piece of video equipment.
- These articles range in length from 800 to 1500 words. The requirement these articles have to have before I read them is they are written by someone who knows what they are talking about and is written in English.
- Where I find these articles range from personal blogs to business websites.
- How I find these articles comes from being familiar with all of Google’s services and my advance experience of using Google Alerts.
Guess what I am saying is I like to learn and then pass on what I have learned after I gained experience from what I have learned… and, yes, you never stop learning.
What I am contributing to you today is, there is a tremendous need for more people like you to make a contribution to the internet. If you are going to spend time form your life out here, do something productive with it.
I am not saying you should start a blog.
However, blogging is a very rewarding experience.
Making comments to blogs is making a contribution. Watching videos on YouTube and LinkedIn is making a contribution. Deleting your Facebook account and focusing on making a contribution to social networks where they promote real people and not fake users.
All of this would be making a contribution to the internet without blogging.
I know I could go on and on about the need for you to make a contribution and a comment, but I think I have contributed enough for now.
Let me know how I can help.
