Are Your Videos Meeting Your Consumers Needs?

We visit with business leaders nearly every day and the first question they have is asking us why their current videos are not accomplishing their mission.  The reasons we find why their videos are not accomplishing anything is due to either the quality of the video or format the video was produced.

We also talk to consumers of videos and it is clear what they like and do not like.  Many video production groups go for the fade or the latest trend of video production basing why they are producing the video in a particular format on what one of their misguided influencers is doing.  Their thinking…if it works for them in getting 10,000 LIKES on Facebook it must be an effective format of videoing.

We get the message from the consumers we survey while gathering up the data for the strategy we develop for our clients.  The message is clear..short, high quality professionally produced, entertaining videos are what consumers…the people who matter…demand.  All of the people we talk to about their likes and dislikes about videos are everyday people who are not real tech-oriented buy very social media savvy.  Meaning they know where the stop button is on videos and know how to fast forward.

What Consumer of Videos are Tell Me!

  • 98% of the consumers we have survived this year are on the internet, for one reason or the other, over 8 hours a day. 
  • They spend 90% of that time looking at videos…mostly to gain knowledge or searching for solutions. 
  • They can immediately tell between a video that is produced by a Smartphone and one produced with a High Definition camera. 
  • 68% immediately click off a smartphone video or video of people producing a podcast. 
  • 76% know when a video was produced using a green screen. 
  • 85% say the flaws in video production that are created by the green screen is what causes them to immediately click off videos produced with green screens.

So, why are so many video production groups producing these videos that are not going to be watched?  Answer? They don’t know better.

Over the past 6 years, 85% of our business has come from business people who have given a butt load of money to a video production company only to get a video that is not synchronized to any digital marketing strategy.  We hear the complaints and…yes…we are learning from others mistakes.

Since 2016, video marketing has become mandated as a need for every type of business’ marketing strategy.  This means there is a tremendous market for video production.  Unfortunately, most video production companies are not in tune with what videos consumers want and go for what they are thinking they are good at creating which is producing mediocre videos.

Don’t Make Another Mistake

This high volume of very poorly made videos produced in formats that make 99% of the viewers upset reflects poorly upon the rest video production industry as a whole.  This is why either the video producers producing bad videos need to get in step with what is going on or the businesses hiring those misguided production companies need to find a video-centric digital marketing agency like SyncLab Media.
