LIVE STREAMING: You Have to be Consistent

April 1, 2019 By Scot Duke

In case you have not noticed it yet, LIVE Video streaming is taking over social media.

In most cases delivering your message LIVE to YouTube or even Facebook is a good strategy. However, producing the One-Off Live Stream Video could work against your branding.

Being consistent with when you broadcast LIVE content is the secret to being successful from your efforts.

Live Streaming does not come with No Risks.  Poorly produced low-quality LIVE streams can also work against your digital marketing strategy.   Having bad audio and lighting will push consumers away.  Not adding graphics or other on-screen images will also result in viewers clicking off the LIVE stream.

The goal you should have when streaming LIVE on Facebook, YouTube or LinkedIn is to stay on point and deliver a clear message.

Why Use LIVE Streaming Video

First of all, LIVE Streaming Videos are Cost Effective

One of the best aspects of live-streaming is that it is very cost effective. Before it was LIVE streaming video, most businesses relied on television and broadcasting to showcase their products or videos. TV productions are, of course, very costly. Estimates for a one-minute commercial aired on television in Los Angeles, for example, is roughly $17,000.

Today, any business can broadcast LIVE.  For companies wanting a more professional investment in live-streaming, services run a few hundred dollars per month depending on the level of service.

Entertains Viewers

There’s something about a live-stream that people enjoy. It makes them feel like they are in the middle of the action and part of an active, engaged audience. From exotic animals giving birth to sports events, concerts, interviews, and special events, live-streaming allows your viewers to feel like they’re in on the action. Viewers can feel a sense of camaraderie, especially in the comments section, and get in on the action with contests, polls, and when their comments and questions are acknowledged by the presenters.

Encourages Engagement

LIVE Streaming video programs make it easy for companies to get feedback from customers and fans through the likes, favorites, and comments they receive from their Social Media. Facebook reports… “people comment more than 10 times more on Facebook Live videos than on regular videos.” Dunkin Donuts saw massive success with its first live video on Facebook: “It generated nearly 40,000 views and more than 5,000 interactions on social media.”

Makes It Easy be Shared

Recent reports estimate there are  1.65 billion active social media users worldwide. About 95% of active social media users follow brands with social media accounts.

Social media makes up a majority of digital marketing strategies because it allows for easy sharing. Social Media is all about quick, repeated exposure to both your audience and people who are similar to the members of your primary audience. Once the live-stream has concluded, the broadcaster can save the video and post it to their social networks.

One company hosted a small live-streamed event: Twenty people watched. Then they posted the video to their Twitter account and asked viewers to Re-Tweet the video, and 16 did. Thanks to the shares and Re-Tweets, “the live stream had a total reach of over 3,000 people and over 800 views.”

Your business should be using LIVE Streaming video as part of its video-centric digital marketing strategy.  Contact Synclab Media to learn more about how LIVE Streaming can help deliver a better message to you audience.
