Every time I attended a business networking function or gathering of like-minded business leaders I run into several of my associates who come up to me and say.
I don’t see you on Facebook anymore, What’s up with that?
Actually, I am kinda sorta am on Facebook, but not directly nor actively involved in participating in the Facebook community. Why, well as you can see from my previous post about Facebook, I just am not a fan of any site that does not respect the work people like me do to help businesses like theirs.
Too many people are addicted to Facebook. However, most people cannot really explain why they are on Facebook. OH, there are the many who say they are only on Facebook because that is where their direct family resides. Then you have the growing few who say they are on Facebook because they are gaining traction to their cause.
The effectiveness of Facebook has always been suspicious and at best objective of what activity is real and what is sponsored by Facebook.
So, why be on Facebook? Almost every Facebooker could quickly answer that by saying it is where the most people are online. Or Facebook was the most used platform. Today that does not seem to be the case. Facebook has never been able to have validated by a third party how many user profiles they have in their database and never will attempt to validate that all of the activity in the Facebook live stream is organic.
The question still goes unanswered to why do so many people prefer Facebook. Why I am not on Facebook is simple. I value my limited time to being involved on social networks who secure their platform from the dark side if the internet.
Surely you have better things to do with your time. Let me know how I can help.
