Since 2015, clients have asked me to evaluate the value of the small business social network AlignAble .
I will have to say I am surprised it has made it this far. It started out being hammered as a Spammer and as all new sites always experience, had some bugs that did not help their PR. But eventually got the bugs worked out.
I decided to take a look at AlignAble again at the request of a business marketer who came to us asking how they could put videos on AlignAble.
In order to find the answer and to learn more about why more and more people are now asking me about AlignAble, I decided to open an account with them SyncLab Media AlignAble. No better way to find out the good and bad of something than jumping in with both feet and getting after it.
And, as most of my Followers know…I like to Get After It!
I didn’t go into this alone. I wanted to see if what I was doing on AlignAble would work for our clients. So I opened an account for one of the clients that are about to start using Videos. Surprisingly, the experience is tracking to be the same.
Pleasantly Suprised
My first reaction to AlignAble was like 99% of the other first time AlignAble users and that was to say…OH No, not another “LinkedIn wannabe!” However, that reaction changed in about 24 hours after I spent the time to completely fill out the profile information.
As soon as I sign us up for the Addison, Texas Community the Message Tab lite up with 6 business owners located within a mile of our office who wanted to have coffee.
Fortunately, I Love Coffee
I have now been on AlignAble for 3 months and have had 12 one-on-one meetings with business owners, executives, and solopreneurs, with a calendar full of what I now call the MWF Coffee Sessions. The pipeline is filling and working very well with the marketing strategy we developed to facilitate our move back to the Addison, Texas area of the DFW area.
Still Have Some Work to Do
Right now, AlignAble does have considerable a lot of positiveness going on. Hopefully, in order for that positiveness to continue, they need to Get After It!
They do have a responsive support group who, overall, are very pleasant to deal with. However, the site design is a little bland looking. Their layout is a little 2008ish and color scheme is too pastel.
Need To Open the Door Wide
Limiting the number of contacts you can connect with on AlignAble until you allow them to download your LinkedIn connections or your email address is one of the Biggest Red Flags that come up and probably is resulting in many people deactivating their accounts.
Everyone knows why social network sites want businesses to dump their database into theirs. What AlignAble may not know is anyone who has been online for more than ten minutes is not going to give away their contact list to someone who is going to sell it unless they get a cut of their action.
It would be more beneficial to AlignAble to lift the limit on contacts organically made so the users can prosper which will lead to them to promoting AlignAble.
Gotta Have Videos
I would be safe to say if AlignAble is interested in capturing the millions of business people leaving Facebook they have a lot of work to do.
Their biggest weakness keeping many business people from considering using AlignAble..which includes all of our clients…is the lack of being able to post Videos or upload videos and show videos anywhere on their site.
Hopefully AlignAble is working to allow videos to be displayed on their site. It is a guarantee we would send our clients there.
Let me know how I can help.
