2018: Revamping Operations

January 15, 2018 By Scot Duke

2018 will be the year to revamp your business operations. Why? Because every business should take time each year to enhance, change or do away with obsolete, inefficient and worthless processes hindering the profitability of the business.

What Will 2018 Bring

In 2018 business operations management teams need to get ready to assist their marketing team in rapidly moving from the old “Set-it and forget-it” traditional marketing plans based on 1990 strategies to a more flexible video-centric digital marketing plan they will need to survive in today’s market.

Digital marketing has finally taken center stage for every business in every industry.  If a business does not have at least a Profile Video they will be quickly left behind by their competitors who have taken digital marketing seriously.

Stronger Operations

Once the videos start increasing the volume of sales the pressure will then move to the business’ operations team.  If the operations team is no on board with the marketing team in developing the overall digital marketing strategy they more than likely will not be able to handle the increase in production needed to keep up with the added sales.

This means problem-solving will be in high demand especially in the operations management team.  It the company does not have an operations director experienced in solving problems as fast as they come up the company will be at risk at not meeting their consumer’s expectations.

Quality Demand Increases

Quality will be in high demand which will put even more pressure on the operations team.  Most of the quality issues businesses will experience will be caused by inadequate human resources.  To maintain the high-quality consumers demand the company will need to have an adequate workforce who not distracted with having to cover too many work functions.

Again, the operations team will be where quality control measures will be developed and implemented.   The operations management team will need to develop how all services and products are delivered.
