You have a business problem but no solution.
I have a solution to your business problem. It would appear we need to get together to talk about me consulting you through the problem to finding the solution that best works.
The question then becomes, what is the value of my knowledge?
My Value
For the past 18 years, I have been offering my problem-solving services in the form of consulting or directing a business’ operations. Anything from reviewing and developing SOP’s to project processing to flush out the problem areas in a business’ structure. My focus has been with helping small to medium size businesses but I also have been trained to work with a team in the corporate world.
I’ll more than likely continue to do this for some time now since the demand for people like me who have the experience in operations management is rare.
The issue I have to deal with frequently is getting business people to understand the value of my knowledge. Business people who understand the need for their business to remain or become successful do not hesitate in retaining me as a consultant or bringing me in-house to manage their day to day operations. It is those business leaders who see no value in anything dealing with Operations Management who eventually lose control of their company’s mission.
Knowledge and experience now have a dollar value. Consulting services is now a Product. And, just like anything else in the supply and demand based economy the price for the product goes up…or down due to its demand.
I know I am not alone in the world of people who offer business services being seen as valuable resources. Granted there are many in the freelance consulting world who are all hat and no cattle. Thus, is one of the many problems I deal with every day. But, I have the solution to that problem as well.
