So, why is it so hard for the business leaders…C-Suite Executives, Marketing Directors, and PR types… to trust Digital Marketing as being something real and the people who offer digital marketing services are professionals?

Is it because with digital marketing: 

• There are no certainties in the outcome?
• It appears to be only offered primarily by inexperienced new age marketers?
• Has too many undefined terms and incomprehensive jargon?

The questions about digital marketing are many and the answers are not very clear however that does not mean digital marketing is not a viable form of marketing.  

I find it strange that the business world, after 15 years, still does not take digital marketing serious. 

Digital Marketing is Here to Stay

• Digital marketing was brought on with the advancement of product sales through social media.  
• Digital marketing redefined internet marketing to include video and other vehicles used to digitally produced promotions..like Podcasts and internet radio programs.

A recent survey by Fournaise Group shows senior executives still don’t believe digital marketing demonstrates objective commercial thinking, with 73% of CEOs stating “marketers who offer digital marketing services lack business credibility and the ability to generate sufficient growth”.  80% of CEOs simply don’t trust digital marketers at all, while 91% do trust CIOs and CFOs. 

There have been enough studies done since 1990 when digital marketing was first introduced to the business world to now prove that if you are not developing short and long term video centric digital marketing strategies you then are not capturing all of the opportunities to promote your business or service.

Bottomline: It is time for business leaders to stop running away from digital marketers and run with them so they can help marketing campaigns avoid the potholes in the information highway.
