Here in Texas there is, on average, five days a year where drinking a cold beer might not be that important. Generally those five days come during our two week Winter when the temperature drops to 17 degrees and there is 2 inches of Ice on the ground. Then on those days drinking Jack Daniels becomes very important.
Other than that, having a Cold beer on a day like today, Feb 6 where it is 83 degrees, feels pretty good.
However, there are other times of the year when having a cold beer is more important than other days.
Like any day you are in the Hill Country of Texas where real BBQ is being dished out. Or when the Tex-Mex in San Antonio is matched up to one of our many 100+ temperature days.
Of course, there is nothing like reaching into an iced down #5 Washtub and pulling out a longneck just before the grill master slaps that 15oz rib eye on your plate. And…don’t forget the few dozens times in August when you are walking off the 18th green knowing the only relief you are going to get from the heat is from rubbing a cold beer on your neck just a few seconds before popping that top.
Oh I’m sure there are other times a cold beer is more important, but right now, I’m too thirsty to think of one.
Let me know how I can help.
