I recently walked into a business networking event and was immediately overcome by the near deafening noise of everyone in the room attempting to deliver their business message to the person standing next to them.
This type of loud word of mouth marketing seems to be happening more frequently and always raises a number of questions on whether these types of business networking event was really worth the effort.
More overly, these are just the people in this particular room. Just think about the millions of people online who are doing the same thing?
Business networking is still a viable part of doing business, but how does a business person deliver their message over all of the shouting?
Got To Be Seen To Be Heard
Here are three reasons why business’ messages are not being heard.
- You Are Not Using Video. Business owners still are shying away from using videos. Video is not only the number one form of communication on the internet it is the number one form of message delivery in emails.
- You Are Not Clearly Stating What Problem Your Business Solves. There still are too many businesses who have not developed a clear message on what problem they solve. Once a consumer learns what problem they have the business they are listening to solves, then they listen more. No message = No Listen.
- You Are Not Posting Message Where They Will Be Found. Three out of the four people SyncLab Media surveyed during the 1st quarter of 2016 said they were told, by marketers who are pushing their clients towards ‘trends’ instead of sound strategies, that they needed to place their video content on Facebook. The fact still remains, YouTube is by far still the the number 1 social platform to post a business’ message. YouTube videos are where Google searches when providing information to the Search making it the most valuable video platform.
Don’t Keep Making the Same Mistakes
Don’t keep going to business networking events in hopes to get your business message heard. You should be going to business networking events to gather information on where you can send your business’ videos. The person standing next to you will be grateful when you tell them you will send them your video on the problems your business solves.
