The Hashtag Phase of Content Management Nears Its End.

Hastag1If you are looking for a surefire way to receive a standing ovation during your presentation on Social Media here is the #1 way.  Start off and end your presentation with something like,…Posting Hashtags in your status updates Are No Longer Needed (or Wanted)

If you are after increasing your brands influence and loyalty of millions of people who are looking for leadership on this issues, add into your presentation the remark…today you have a 95% chance of being removed from someone’s connections if you use Hashtags..or even a Hashtag.

Yes, I know there are a trillion people out in La-La-Land who are in love with their Hashtags. That can be clearly seen for those who use any of the social platforms. There are even those who feel they are an artist when it comes to crafting a humorous Hashtags.

The concept of using Hashtags as a way to sort content into categories was, in the beginning, brilliant. Even Google jumped in to be a leader in Hashtagology by developing the short lived Auto-Hashtag feature in Google+.  Now, due to the darkside of the internet claiming ownership of Hashtags and the misunderstanding of millions of people on what Hashtags do, those who use Hashtags in every posts are being blacklisted, blocked, unfriended, unfollowed and at the very least passed over because of the image using Hashtags now give viewers

The downfall of Hashtags began soon after they started. The so called Social Influencers, the few people who are held on pedestals as leaders of the masses on the internet, started experimenting with Hashtags to a point of posting dozens of them in their posts. Why?

Many have told me it was a sarcastic was to show their millions of followers the absurdity of using Hashtags for any reason.

That back fired on them. Their followers read into their post as a How To Use Hashtags post.  Another one of the many fails the so called social influencers produced that turned into creating one more thing making Social Network a total hell to use.

Happy Times for Hashtags Are Over

Now the Spammers and the “Darkside” have taken ownership of Hashtags resulting in their downfall.  Why would anyone…yes, ANYONE, want to give the Darkside of the internet any reason to spread their message of deceit? 

It is past time the rational people still left on the internet to start ignoring those how use Hashtags.  It could be that an intervention needs to take place with your close friends who are still under the impression that posting Hashtags means they appear to be “Hip”, or with your social media marketers you socialize with who still feel that Hashtags are great ways to sort out their posts and follow others who click on them.

When anything invented to use on the internet to improve the use of the internet starts spreading hurt and computer viruses, it is time for something else to be invented that makes using the internet a better place to be.
