Digital Marketing Done Wrong

Icon 400Since the beginning of the year I have been in more than 25 meetings with business owners, executives and entrepreneurs who attempted to do their own digital marketing and were doing it all wrong.  OR, they took the advice of one of the so called social media experts and was lead down a rabbit hole to nowhere.

Naturally, the number one reason business go out on their own and attempt to do their own thing is to save a few bucks.  I get that and as long as they get good advice there is nothing wrong with the DIY method.

But, many don’t know what they are doing.  As a result what they get out of their endeavor was not what they wanted, or expected.  In a number of cases what they did in the social spaces hurt them more than helped. 

The main mistake many business make is to do their own videos.  Fortunately the cellphone video fade is not quiet over. The selfie cellphones can be pulled off by the celebrity brands, but on the most part even the image celebrities get from smartphone videos defeat their purpose.  That is why more and more celebrities hire their own camera crew to follow them around covering everything they do.  This insures how they are seen in public has a quality image.

Videos are still the number one sources of content consumers are consuming and YouTube is now the top search engine for videos.  It is important for businesses to place videos as the core of their digital marketing.

The need for a business to have a number of videos on their website is greater today than it ever was.  When a consumer views your website it better have a video that explains clearly, and in a timely manner, what you offer or, the consumer is going to click past your site to another site that meets their visual needs.

This is why it is very important businesses have all of their videos professional produced.

Don’t find your company’s site being passed over by the Buying Public.  Have your digital marketing mapped out by a capable digital marketing agency.
