During the editing process of Chris Attiq’s video on How to File a VA Claim, I learned so much it just seems natural for me to share what I learned.
The first thing I learned was when a VET is files a VA Claim the #1 problem they face is getting the VA to take action on their VA disability benefits claims. Hassle, right?
When a veteran files a claim forms, and then waits on the VA for 2-3 (or more years) to make a simple initial decision, it seems natural for them to get frustrated with the TK. Frustration leads to anger and from there, things go downhill.
…They start calling, writing, faxing….
…sending in tons of information and forms that may or may not help their claim.
….the VA’s primary focus becomes responding to VA disability status requests and NOT developing their VA Claim.
What if there was a different way?
What if a Veteran could develop and file their own VA Compensation Claim in a way that made it EASIER for the VA to complete it?
What if they knew the jargon of the VA Disability Benefits Claims process, and could “speak the VA language”?
What if they knew the steps that the VA was going to take in 3 years time – and instead did that work themselves in 2 or 3 or 4 months time?
What would happen?
Chris Attig can tell you what would happen.
Chris Attig is the author of the Veterans Law Blog. Since 2007, he has been writing the largest and longest running blog for Veterans battling the VA in their VA claims.
He is also an accredited VA attorney – and has represented countless Veterans before VA Regional Offices around the country, the Board of Veterans Appeals (BVA) and the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC).
In those 7 years, he has seen thousands of Veterans claim. He’s seen what Veterans do wrong and what they do right. He’s seen where the VA gets stuck and how claims get caught in the backlog.
For 2 years, he’s been working with a small group of Veterans to design a product that would help Veterans escape the VA Claims backlog….
… or better yet, stay out of the VA Claims Backlog altogether.
His “How to File a VA Claim Package” – which is available on the Veterans Law Blog Bookstore is going to give you a real “leg up” in filing your VA Disability Claims.
How does he know that the How to File a VA Claim Training Guide will help you? Because other Veterans are telling him it is helping them.
What the Veterans are saying
One Veteran, who asked not to share his full name, said this:
“Just a quick note to say how much I appreciate your conscientiousness and dedication and to helping us. You are one in million, for sure!
Because I am overwhelmed with health problems, yellowing documents and constant “Too Much Information” of VA rules, it’s a comfort to have your ultra-clear directions downloaded into one file.
Thank you for taking the extra time to do this right!”
Veteran Michael O. said this on Google+
“A must have for all Vets. This should be issued to every service member when they transition into civilian life.”
And another Veteran shared this in a recent survey of Veterans using the Training package:
“The Training Package is helping me to submit my claim in a concise, clear manner. I’ve been reading your blog for a few months and I look forward to it daily. Thank you!”
