What is Quality Content?

November 22, 2014 By Scot Duke

qualitySeveral times a week I am asked what kind of content is most favored by more consumers.  Answer:  Naturally videos are at the top of preferred form for content delivery, but running a close second are short 500 word or less mini blogs that are linked to a less that 1500 word blog.

Of course if the blog had a video..well..you have the perfect preferred form of user friendly content.

Quality Content is…

However, the Best Quality Content is based on:

  1. Advice
  2. How to Do Something
  3. Graphic rendering of something

Consumer Demands

What consumers are after is something of value.  Quality Content is defined as a group of words delivered effectively that outline something of specific interest and is worth the effort to enjoy.   Example..a new release or press release would more than likely have more quality content than a .gif of a Halloween pumpkin.

Graphics Help

Viewing a quality photo taken by some of the best photographers in the world would be consider quality content.  Watching a studio produced video or on location with controlled lighting and audio on a subject of interest is quality content.

Common Interest

Some people will attempt to debate the definition of quality content is based on what a person deem as interesting to them.  This is true, however, if the content is delivered in a less popular manner on a subject focused to interest only two people the content’s quality is reduced due to it only being of interest to hardly anyone.

For most businesses being found on the internet is the name of the game.  Google searches for the best content to offer the person searching Google.  The key here is, Google searches content that it can find.

Where Content Is Found Matters

If the content is posted on a social space that does not allow Google to search then it really doesn’t matter the quality of the content.  Google is only going to promote content that is open for their search.  Only Google+ is totally open to the Google Search.  Other social spaces release only what they feel they want released for review by Google.

So,

  • Produce quality content.
  • Deliver content in a preferred manner.
  • And select carefully where you post the content.

If you follow this advice you will find your time and effort spent online is much more rewarding.  Let me know how I can help.
