Don’t Use Too Much Marketing: Quality Over Quantity

June 27, 2014 By Scot Duke

no spamSpam Can Turn Off Your Customers

Never conclude that spamming customers will help get your message across. That is many times not the case, and the contrary may happen. It might turn off customers and they will no longer be interested in your product.

Get Your Customers’ Attention

In fact, less than 5% of customers will actually buy anything on their first visit to your business’ website. First, you should get your customers’ attention by posting interesting information about your product or service.

Then, you should engage with your customers and form relationships with them. Send them e-mails and information with frequently asked questions.

For example, if you find that better education and smaller houses are directly related to younger families, then make sure you target those young families. If you find that outdoor activities and health are related, then you need to target retired people.

Use Smart Marketing

You need to be smart about your marketing, as opposed to just marketing a lot and spamming your customers. Your business needs to find out any questions your customers might have, and answer them to the best of your ability.

While having a lot of informative content is good, it will not guarantee that your customers will come back to your website. Quality over quantity applies to marketing, especially when it comes to social media. If your business posts too much on Facebook, for example, then customers and followers will only be turned off and not pay attention to your business. This could cause them to unfollow or “unlike” your business’ page.

An overabundance of something can be uninteresting. Too much of one food, no matter how good it is, can be boring. No matter how much you like the content, too much of it can be annoying.

Therefore, your business should make sure to be smart with its marketing and attract customers based on how good the content is, not how much there is.
