Did I tell you I just come up with a new device that allows you to hook the Cart up in front of the horse? Yaw..another bad analogy but is what so many businesses are trying to do in the online social spaces. Many businesses just cannot let go of the fact that they have to be online first before the phone is going to ring.
Be Social and They Will Call
Same thing goes with those businesses who feel they are really getting results from their Facebook presence and can’t see how being on Google+ will improve their results. My response has always been, you have to use Google+ in order to know how it works and what works to make the phone ring.
Truly, putting the Cart before the Horse is what so many businesses are attempting to do with requiring they get results from G+ before they use G+.
So Why is Google+ the Place to be for Businesses?
The fact is, Google+ is for businesses who want to Be Found. Studies are showing businesses who use G+..like it is suppose to be used.. are more likely to be found in the search engines than they would for the same time and energy spent on Facebook and Twitter..and yes, Pinterest.
As more consumers leave Facebook and Twitter in search for reality they are going to end up on Google+. Those businesses who have their shop set up and are effectively using Google+ are going to be the businesses with their phone ringing first.
This is not to say those businesses who drag their feet and go down with the Facebook ship will later not be able to gain traction on Google+, but the longer they wait to learn how to use G+ the longer it will take to get equal footing with their competitors who see clearly the impact Google has on being found online.
So How Do You Use Google+ to Make the Phone Ring?
It’s all about social. The businesses who are social with consumers by posting interesting information about their business will be the the businesses building the most trust. The businesses who use the Google Hangouts to provide content visually will be the businesses who show the consumers there is more to their business than the slick wordsmith they use on their web-site.
To get the phone ring anywhere, businesses have to find ways to be more social with potential consumers. The businesses who answer the questions the consumers have about their product or service will be the businesses the consumer will take the time to call.
Google+ has opened the door for businesses to finish what they started in the other social spaces. It is time to be Found and Google+ really makes that happen.
