Every business person should be asking themselves this question each day.  Why?  Knowing where you are going or where your business is going has to remain a total focus of each business day.

No!, it does not mean you have to get out the compass and business plan to make sure you are on track to what you set out to do.  It means, planning each day to accomplishing something productive… or in some cases, profitable…should be on everyone business’ agenda.

Even I have to stop from time to time and look up to see where it is I am going.  In my business it is very easy for me to get sucked into dealing with a client’s business strategy. Sometimes I forget I have a strategy to focus on as well.  However, it is my job to help people get around an operational problem or think out a next step in their business strategy.  All that can get very involved and to me is Fun.

Looking forward is a must to compete in today’s world.  The way things are now in business looking forward gets tough to do, but has to be done.

Staying focused on the goal you set is a must if you are going to accomplish it.  If the focus gets blurry or there is not enough time to look up to see where you are going, it could be time to bring someone in to help adjust the focus or review the plan.
