Are You Ready for a REAL Home-Based Gig?

December 14, 2010 By Scot Duke

Home Job Knowing that there are millions of people around the country looking for work here are some more tips on Home-Based jobs.

One thing to keep in mind with looking for Home_based jobs is that there are a LOT OF SCAMs.  Look closely at all of the sites claiming to offer home-based careers..many are out to either get your money or get you involved in stuff you are not going to make any money doing.

Below, I have listed a number of Home-Based jobs I have found of interest..Maybe they are of interest to you.  Just remember, there are millions of others looking for these jobs, so more than likely by the time you get to the sites mentioned the job will be taken..just hang in there, bookmark the site..if they have an RSS Feed use it and check back frequently..they post opening very often.

Mystery Shoppers

This sector of home-based jobs is famous for its scams.  However there are some legitimate mystery shopping jobs

Market Force Information, Inc. (MFI)

Recruit mystery shoppers across US and Canada.  MFI has been the target of a number of scammers who use its name on checks.  For details on the current opening  and learn more about the scams go to their site http://www.marketforce.com

RitterAssociates

Like MFI Ritter Associates recruits mystery shoppers both in the US and in Canada.  Check out the details at http://www.ritterassociates/become-shopper.html

Home-Based Customer Service

Sometimes known as the ‘Homeshoring’ call center, many companies are hiring home-based agents to handle incoming calls.  Pay range from $9 to $25 per hour.  Requirements generally include customer service or technical support experience and a quiet home office with a landline telephone and high speed internet connection.

Below are a few companies known to have been hiring:

Arise

Arise recently announced they were looking to hire 6,000 agents.  They contract independent agents in Europe and the US.  For details go to http://www.arise.com

Convergys

Convergys hires agents to serve as ‘Gift Advisers’ for Harry and David Customers.  Agents hired as employees and benefits include paid training.  More details at http://careers.convergysworkathome.com

LiveOps

LiveOps is like Arise hiring agents as independent contractors.  Agents note where the caller is calling from and if it is in response to a TV or internet ads.  For more information go to http://www.liveops.com

Support.com

Support.com hires home-based agents to provide technical support.  For more info go to http://bit.ly/gJrp3W

VIPdesk

VIPdesk hires agents to assist with clients like Eddie Bauer.  For more info go to http://vipdesk.com/info

Remember, I do not make claim to any of these sites having any jobs, or about what the jobs are about.  I do not endorse any of these sites nor are these sites paying me to post this information.

Hope this helps those who are looking for work since I know what you are going through in these hard times.  Let me know how I can help.
