A Must for Franchises

Social Media for Franchises is a most.  Unfortunately many of the franchisees are handicapped since the social media…or marketing..is done by the franchisor.   In my quick review of the franchise real estate online I saw many franchises did not have a separate page or blog or any other support for their franchisees.  Yet, the non-franchised businesses build completed pages for each locations with robust blogging and so forth.  Why is this?

In discussing this issue with some of the true experts of the franchise industry listed at www.franchise.us I was told that many of the Franchisors have a hard time understanding how letting the franchisees provide content on the business will benefit the franchise.   A couple of the experts even reported that the lack of understanding and delay in implementing any social media for the franchise has caused a number of the larger, traditional mainstream, franchises to lose traction in their market making the franchisees very unhappy with the franchisor.  This does not sound like a good working relationship.

I may have to keep track of this issue with these experts on www.franchise.us and this new site developed to address these kind of things.  Could turn out to be very interesting.
