A couple of weeks ago I went to  www.OpenCa.mp to seek the answer to this question.  Though this issue of ‘what time of day is best to post a Blog’, or anything, online was not directly answered in any of the sessions I attended, Cali Lewis, of GeekBeat.tv ,got close.  She covered this with saying what time of day she feels is good to post Videos…between 10am and 2pm.  What time zone?…guess that will be part of her presentation at next year’s OpenCamp. 

Of course, Video’s have a different popularity than Blogs, so is that specific time the same for posting blogs..it would seem to be, but is it really?

Experience Not Any Help

I have been blogging for over 5 years now and have posted over 3000 articles over a base of five blog sites I have had up over this time.  Yes, I have had a lot to say, still my experience does not find an answer to this burning questions today’s bloggers have.   I have posted blogs at different times of the day and night and have yet found when my blogs are best read. It seems I get the same views of my blogs anytime of day I post.  So, it would be easy for me to say there is not a special time of day best to post a blog, but that is easy to day.  There must be a time of day when real people (not BOTS) read blogs.  A time of day they go to their PC, and now smartphones, to check out what is being said.  When is that?

Has Time Become a Non-Issue?

There really has not been anything written lately on the ‘time of day to post a blog’ issue..if it is an issue.  I have read some of the Guru’s of social media ( as they seem to want to still be know as) posts on this subject dated late 2008.  Wasn’t that about the time the economy went to s*#t…could that be a factor on the sporadicness of blog reading?

Are Stats Really Telling Us Anything?

Yes, I have run all of the post analysis programs to see when I get the most readers and there is no spike anytime of day.  Does that mean it does not make a difference what time of day to post?  Maybe. 

I am really kind of lost from this point to really know what to tell any of my clients who ask me this question.  Maybe you have a scientific method of knowing when to post. 

I really don’t agree with the so called experts report since it was in 2008..geez, that was a millennium of time on the La-La-Land calendar and things CHANGE out here too quickly.

Best Guess

If I was to take a SWAG at saying when the best time of day is to post a blog I would have to take it safe and say..Anytime is good.  My suggestion would be to post it and watch your stats.  If you see a spike in a time of day when you get the most reads..there is your answer.  Just remember..that is the answer for that day..is it the exact answer forever?  I doubt it. 

I am hoping you, the reader of my blog, could tell me when you like to read blogs so there can be an effort put together to service YOUR needs better since I, and the rest of the blogsphere, want to better serve our customers…which is you.
