It has been a very long while since I have been to a conference on blogging..heck, I don’t remember have ever attended a conference on blogging..if I did, it was not as memorable as OpenCa.mp.
I have been around hundreds of startup events in my life and know the tell tale signs of failure. None of those signs were evident in this very informative, balance, well put together two day conference.
This was not to say there were not any problems or glitches, for which I am sure there were a few…all conferences have them. The good news is, several members of the organizers staff that spent time visiting with me truly were open for suggestions on areas to improve. So, this bodes wells OpenCamp will come back cooking with gas next year.
Since when I first heard of OpenCamp back in January of this year the concept of bringing all of the blogging platforms…WordPress, Joomla and Drupal…under one conference intrigued me and after attending did not let me down on what I felt is a Must Attend conference for anyone who is stepping into the Blogsphere, Social Media or Online Marketing worlds.
The information offered at OpenCamp ranged from Drupal 101 to Advance development of WordPress to Podcasting for the novice to Videos production for HD Quality presentation. The good news was…and probably the most valuable aspect of the conference…was the accessibility to the Speakers and the openness of all…I MEAN ALL…of the experts from each of these platforms who came to OpenCamp. The learning was in the asking at this conference.
I would suggest..again… you bookmark the www.openca.mp site, like the Facebook page and follow the hashtag #ocdfw on Twitter so you do not miss the date for the next OpenCamp. It is an experience anyone in a social media business should plan on having. I hope to see you there next year.
