OK! you have your new year started. You have your new year’s resolutions going and you are well on your way to finishing your second week of the year. Now What?
Really, what is the next step? Oh, sure, staying focused on the plan is the name of the game, but really, is that all you are going to do is to walk around like a zombie with blinders on pushing away anything and everything else interesting because it is not in the plan?
I am seeing a lot of people doing this and mostly out of desperation to either finding a job or make their business works. Hey, we are all there in that boat, but really..is all that worth it?
No matter what your plan is, what your resolution is or if all you are doing each day is personal or business related, you need to do something off the beaten path of your plan or you are not going to make it through week three…OK..maybe the first month.
I am starting to hear from more people everyday wanting to know what to do in this failed economy? Either in how to enjoy their personal life more or improve their business more while pursuing their resolution. I stay focused with telling these people that Golf is a great way to tie in anything they do. Golf provides a diversion while keeping you focused in either personal or professional matters.
Yaw, I hear it from all the non-athletic types that Golf is a sport or a game and they don’t do anything that causes them to sweat or anything that requires them to look awkward. My response is always the same…maybe you should try Golf before you assume what it does.
I can guarantee golf will provide you with the diversion to you plan that keeps you focused while helping you in ways you will not ever realize until you play golf..and I mean, putting forth a serious effort, not just go to a driving range with a crew of sympathizers to purposefully set the experience up to fail. No, at the very lest, read a book on getting started and then go after it.
Then, after you started your trek down the road to learning golf, come back to those concerns you had before about golf to see if they are exactly the same..of course they will no be exactly the same because you are going to be hooked.
How will playing golf keep you focused on the plan?
The secret is..play golf while working on the plan. No matter what the plan is, you should be able to play golf while working on the plan.
If your plan is to develop more business..get out of the coffee shop, the networking groups and take those potential clients to the golf club and play golf.
If you plan is to find a job, take a business owner out for a round of golf. You will show them more then just sitting in an interview..could work out.
If your plan is to improve morale in the office then round the staff up, run them down to the country club and play golf with them. This has proven many times to drop barriers and open the lines of communications.
If your plan is to quit smoking…strap the golf bag on and hit the links. A quick five mile walk of the course will keep your mind on the plan.
If your plan is to lose weight..tee it up with the person who is wanting to quit smoking. You two could help each other out.
If your plan is to travel more..DUH..Sign up for an out of town golf school and spend your time learning the game to highest level of skill.
If your plan is to just take it easy and let life pass you by..then watch it go by from the teebox…what a life.
No Time to Play
OH, yes, I heard for the guys and gals claiming they don’t have time to play golf. Their life is a shamble and they are working 24/7 to survive..yada yada… Hey, I hear you..but, what else is new?
Solutions to business and personal problems are what everyone needs to find and most everyone needs help with finding solutions. That is what business coaching, mentors and personal trainers are for. Hey, go play golf with one of these professionals..they could use the diversion as well. I would love you forever for it.
There is always time to play golf..you just have to make the time and time for golf is made through..get this…time management.
So, now what? What is next? What are you waiting for..have you made that appointment to start to learn to play golf?..or even better..made a tee time? Well, what are you waiting for? Let me know how I can help.
