Real People to Follow on Twitter

December 18, 2009 By Scot Duke

Why Follow Friday is Not For Me

I take my time online serious..don’t you?..well you should!  There are much better things to be doing with your time than whaling away at posting your thoughts in less than 140 characters or razzing Bubba Watson on Twitter.  Well, maybe not the razzing of Bubba Watson since he seems to enjoy that..but overall, there are much better things to be doing than wading through hundreds of posts from peeps you follow only to find they are not Real People.

Oh, you are not checking who is following you?..well, then you are probably pulling in a lot of ..aaah..less than desirable characters into your Twitter Following causing YOU more harm than good.  How? Well, today, with the spamming and scamming up over 400% from last year it is for sure if you are not screening your Followers on Twitter more than 60% of the Followers you have are there for nothing but to Spam your Followers and after who you are Following.  That doesn’t help anyone does it?

So, as an effort to help you keep from wasting a LOT of time and connect with Good, Solid Followers on Twitter..here is how Follow Friday on Twitter should be done.

Below, I am listing a few of my “A List” Followers who I can vouch for are REAL People and offer Value to your efforts on Twitter.  Needless to say, I recommend you Following them and I tell you why?

@sassygolf

Now here is a business women that is learning the ropes of Social Media at warp speed. @sassygolf is the business name but Elizabeth now show who she is in her avatar and it seem to be working for her nicely.  @sassygolf is learning conversation on twitter produces more than just posting a promotion. Conversation is sincere.  Uses her time online to keep in touch with Real People.  Make sure to check out her line of Golf Gloves for women..great gifts for the lady golfers in your life..after this blog she may have to start a line of gloves for men..Oh, did I give away a business plan?

@back9promotions

@back9promotions is one of the rookies to my A List. Promoted a few weeks ago due to his ability to catch on to Twitter as being a tool for business instead an instrument of a destructive marketing plan.  Conversations range from deep debates to light humorous conversations.

@bunkershotgolf

@bunkershotgolf is the man with the plan out here in La-La-Land..next to me he seems to be the only golfer who listens before posting.  As far as “All Things Golf” @bunkershotgolf skirts the obvious and promotes all things about good clean golf..I like it.

@msvickielam

Another rookie to my A List @ msvickielam is a rare find.  She came to me from Facebook.  Yes, I am surprised also which makes it fun to Follow her.  Sense of humor is off the scale.  Sense of purpose online is focused to the high level sense of humor making conversations on twitter a delight.

@cwaterhouse

One of Phoenix Pack of Twitters I follow @cwaterhouse is a True Trooper of the use of social media on Twitter.  Real Estate is her game but community support and offline business networking is her strength.  Conversation is direct and expect a lot of ReTweets of your Tweets if you ring her bell of interest.

These are just a few of my “A List” Tweets I follow and who follow me back on Twitter.  This is the most effective way of recommending someone to follow on Twitter and hopefully produces far less Spam than the #FF or #FollowFriday hashtags.
