What Are You Doing During the Golf Offseason?

November 16, 2009 By Scot Duke

Seems the winter time is when playing golf takes a back seat to doing other things in a person’s life that may effect their golf season.  I recently have been encourages to hear more golfers are using the natural inability to get to the golf course during the winter, due to ice and snow, to take care of their health.

Exercise programs are naturally one of the most popular activities more golfers are taking up during the golf off season.  Although I have been stirred in hearing from golfers around the world telling me they will use the winter down time to have needed surgeries to repair or correct a physical problem affecting their golf game.  I join this category since that is what I have had to finally consider and am currently going through post surgery rehab.

This brings on the discussions I have had with my business partner Dave Bisbee.  Dave is a strong advocate on physical fitness being a balanced part of a golfer’s overall approach to learning the game.  Dave is not one of the spandex wearing golf trainers you may have seen videos of online, but he does ad points during his teaching of golf on what exercise would help develop someone’s golf swing.

So, during my rehab this off season I have been mapping out strategies with Dave on how I should approach my come back this next season to redeveloping my golf game.  Over the next 30 days I will be making plans and from time to time reveling them here on how Dave and I are going to take my 14 handicap back to single digits in 2010.

Naturally, I will be doing other things during the offseason to support the golf industry like helping the golf travel industry with giving more people to get out of the snow and enjoy golf someplace warm..and always be showing business golfers how to improve doing business with golf.

Let me know you plans for the offseason and let me know how I can help.
