David Duval, a British Open champion and former number one player in the world, has over the past five years to slipped below the 125 player mark that the PGA holds as the benchmark for players eligible to play in all PGA sanctioned tournaments.

David’s performance of recent has shown some promise and glimpses of the old days when he use to smoke his drive past Tiger Woods.  Unfortunately, his run this year to keep his status in the 125 club fail short with him missing the cut in the season’s ending Children’s Miracle Network Classic at Disney.

David is eligible to go to Q school to get back into the club, but says he is more interested in staying at home with the family during the Holiday Seasons and rely on his many business connections to get him into a selected number of PGA Tour events.

The question now is..is this good for golf?  And more importantly, is not going to Q School good for Duval?

His decision not to go to Q School seems to send a message that playing golf professionally is not of interest.  The remark seems to say he maybe too good in his mind to take the test that would prove to the World he is still the Tiger killer he was. 

He still has a few days to decide..maybe he will choose to take the challenge the PGA sets up for every golfer who feels they deserve a shot at playing at ‘The Show’.
