If you are in business you have to have an attorney review your business model. If you do not have an attorney who set your business up..well, good luck and I really hope you have a lot of luck, because you are going to need it.
Over the now 33 years of being in the Business World I can tell you having an attorney review your business from top to bottom will save you a ton of headaches sometime during that business’s existence.
I review a lot of people’s operations and develop their SOP’s and find that there are a lot of businesses what just avoid having an attorney review their business plan primarily because they feel the cost is not worth it. Then they find that the first business transaction, which usually has to deal with an initial investor, falls apart because the agreement was made informally or the contract had no enforcements or benchmarks that an attorney would know how to set up so the deal works.
Its unfortunate that business people see attorneys as worthless or over priced.
Two Rules to Do Business By
I have come to a conclusion, based on my business background, that there are only Two Rules to use with dealing with your Attorney.
Rule 1: Listen very carefully to your attorney’s advice and do everything they tell you to do and do it to the letter, not your way.
Rule 2: Repeat Rule One, over and over again.
