I could have made this the shortest blog I have every written by just saying…
No!
However, I felt compelled to explain that golf is more than a sales tool. Can it help close the deal?..yes. Can it set up the deal? Yes. But golf is not an automatic closer.
The main thing business golf does is size up the person or persons who are going to be part of the business deal. Business Golf shows how each person’s true behavior and character. All of these traits are part of how the business deal will be made. Business Golf can even reveal that maybe the business deal should not be made.
Going out on the golf course for the sole purpose of cold calling someone to closing a deal would be creating business suicide. Thinking golf is a six hour sales pitch also can result in a negative image or the person who attempts it. None of these approaches work and none of them help golf.
When playing business golf keep the golf on the golf course and the business pitch in the workplace. That is the only way golf can help close the deal.
Let me know how I can help.

Oh I do hope it is not all about closing the deal… but there are those who do (at least try) to close the deal there and then. It does happen, and in my case that's always been led by the client.
I agree Scot, use business golf to enjoy the game, enjoy getting to know much more about the individual(s). At least leave the business until the 19th and better, I believe, a follow-up in their office.
