It is exciting to see more people interested in learning to play golf.  I just hope more of these newbies to the golf community find ways to keep their enthusiasm up while they find the community that fits their needs.  Finding a place online to keep in contact with people you meet and play golf with is the best way to go about making your time spent connecting with golf friends worthwhile.

What is even more exciting to me is even in this down economy more people are interested in investing their time and money in playing golf.

Got Golf, Now What?

I recently spoke to a class of beginner golfers on the advantages golf brings to business people.  During my Q&A I asked the group to tell me what they are going to do after they meet and play golf with business associates?  It seems this question stumps a lot of people.

After spending the time to get to know someone, invite them to play golf, and spend the entire day with them playing golf, talking and getting to know each other better, what do you do with that newly developed association? 

This was a question I asked my self a couple of years ago when I had so many people I had played golf with all around the country and was loosing contact with them.  I needed to find a place or method of keeping in touch with them instead of sending them emails to just say ‘Hi”.  I wanted to offer more value to being an associate of mine than just putting them on a mailing list and contacting them once a year to wish them happy holidays.

The best way to keep in touch with your contacts is to create a purpose or a place that all go to visit.

This brought me to create the Business Golf Country Club. I developed the club in part to have a place to continue to socialize and keep in touch with my contacts.   The club also was for them to bring their associates into the mix and grow the network.  

In The Club my associates can contact me and other members.  It gives them a place to spread out and build their network.  When it comes time again for me to play golf with my contacts it now could include a member of the Club we both have not played golf with before making the outing fun and the connection expanding .
