Naturally, now that the announcement is out I am now getting the emails coming in asking what will be going on at the ClamBake Cafe in Sedona in June. The exact schedule will be placed on the ClamBake Cafe site in a few days, but I thought I would give a little more background on WHY the ClamBake Cafe will be the place to be if you are interested in learning more about golf, business and YES..Tech.
I feel most everyone grasps the golf and business portion of the conference, but the Tech part has received some interesting, yet curious, reactions.
One of the things the golf industry, the business community as well as golfers will be facing in this recession is the need to face up the technical world. OH, yaw, everyone knows they need a web-site, but do they know what to do with it when they launch it. Do they know that there are applications on the market that make their efforts easier? Do they know where to go and who to ask when their web-site is needing help? The answer is NO.
What has taken place is the tech community has left behind many of the mainstream business people..the small business owner as well as the corporate executives.
Out in the golf community many of the golf facilities have yet to get the word on the latest business applications. Those who have learn a little now want to know more about how to work the internet to create business. The common factor amongst those in the golf community looking into the internet with curiosity is they do not trust it or who is claiming to be the experts online.
Why? Well, have you taken a look at the internet from a non-tech or geek point of view? Yaw, it is full of deception when you step back and look at things like Facebook, MySpace, Google, Yahoo not to mention the fear factor many have of Twitter.
To you and I, and most of the community who is here gazing on this blog, we are more or less comfortable with the internet and know where to go and what to do online..with the exception of you there in the back row who is trying to find my email address to spam me. So, you see, most of the mainstream and nearly all of the golf industry is looking for ways to find out about the internet and its technology in a trusting environment.
The ClamBake Cafe was created to do that. When I came online fulltime in 2004 I was hammered and beat up pretty badly by the predators that hang out in MySpace and Facebook who feed on newbies to the game. I said then I was not going to let that happen to the others out there you and I need online so we can market out services and products to them.
So I set out to find out what works and what does not..where online you find trustworthy people and where you cannot and finally where to find all the real golfers are online.
The ClamBake Cafe was conceived a few years ago and it finally became evident with the fail economy that is forcing more offliners to use the internet that Now was the time to do what I could to help.
So, at the ClamBake Cafe Stairway to Golf Heaven Golf School that is being held at the the Seven Canyons Golf Club in Sedona, AZ, participants will be treated with seminars that address things like…
- Why They Need to Blog…
- Where are The Consumers Online?
and other subjects that will be of interest to business golfers.
Plus, Dave Bisbee and I are not going to attempt to veil the fact that GOLF will be taught and played. However, since the golf is a mix of lessons on how to use golf on the golf course, how to play golf and plan golf, the entire three day three night ClamBake Cafe is a business educational experience.
So, what I vision the ClamBake Cafe to become is the SXSW or BlogWorld for Business Golfers. This first outing is produced by the Business Golf Country Club so make sure you join the club so you can enter the Clambake Cafe for the nearly 75% discount of the rack rate for this ClamBake.
Yes, the CBC will be fun and business and you will leave knowing more than you came with which in today’s business world is a true ROI.
Let me know how I can help.
