If you play golf then you sooner or later will realize that you need to learn the rules. This is a daunting experience even for the people who play golf for a living. However, for the beginner, to sit and read the Official Rules of Golf just is not a quick read.
The Rules of Golf is really not easy. Matter of fact I feel that the way the rules are worded it causes more confusion than solves problems or answers questions a golfer may have. So where does one go to get another look at the rules of golf?
Recently, during the ClamBake Cafe Podcast Talk Show, Shannon Grissom, asked the question
“Where would a beginner golfer go to learn more about the Rules of Golf?”
Well, I contacted my friend Rick Pipal who is a prominent member of the Business Golf Country Club plus the author of “The Golf Course” ©Etiquette Manual. I asked if he could point me to some good sites on the Rules of Golf. Here is what Rick suggested:
USGA Rules of Golf
About.com Rules of Golf
GolfSection.com Rules of Golf
I dug around and found a few video’s on the Rules.
Expert Village
Of course I can’t leave my friend Randy Smith, Justin Leonard’s instructor, out of the picture with his humors look at the Rules of Golf.
Laugh While You Learn The Real Rules of Golf!
Hopefully this will get you down the road to understanding the Rules of Golf better. Let me know how I can help.

Great article – I beleive everyone should at least know some basic rules of golf. Golf etiquette is also important for beginners. I'm sure you experienced beginners talking while you tee off or walking on your line when you're putting or not replacing divots.
