I picked up a good blog this afternoon,
Content Distribution is Changing Again By Nova Spivack
and it got me to thinking..
Where is Golf on the Internet? How has golf been used online? and,, Since the beginning of the Information Era, how has Golf tracked?
This chart (below) was what really told the story for me. From the File Systems and Email endeavors before the PC Era to the now emergence of the Web 3.0 ERA…you can track how Golf should have, could have and will be used out here in la-la-land for the growing social endeavors.
Unfortunately, the user manual for how to use golf in social media efforts has not been written yet…hummm another book idea for me. However, the sifting out of golf sites that were, and still are, stuck in the vacuum of the PC Era and the Web- 1.0 will quickly open up new and innovative sites that incorporate all that has been created on the Information Connections towards making the Social Connections.
I say it is time to say good-bye to the “Hey, Check this out” method of getting attention as being the extent of Social Media. Especially with golf..unless you want to catch a 9 Iron in the butt. Soon more effort will be made to produce from all the Information connections platforms great opportunities to physically get involved with who the question..”What are you doing?”.
Yaw, things are changing and golf, with its built-in character evaluation, could lead the way as a very good vehicle to move social media right into Web 3.0 and well pass Web 4.0..that is if you know how to play business golf.
Let me know how I can help.

There's a concept being passed around that you're hitting on a bit (no pun intended)… information illiteracy. You're right that we need to move past the “hey look at me” phase of social media usage and more towards the “hey, think about this” phase.
That's one of our primary goals at SiliconANGLE. Thanks for reading!
