Straight off (pardon the pun) the news wire today…

Country superstar George Strait is taking a swing at another passion besides music.

Strait and partner Tom Cucisk have purchased the Tapatio Springs Golf Resort and Conference Center in Boerne, about 25 miles northwest of San Antonio.

Strait and Cusick, who lives in the Texas Hill Country community, finalized the deal April 1. Terms were not released Friday when the purchase announced.

The seller was Textron Financial Corp., which last June bought the resort for $4.5 million during a foreclosure auction.

Strait, who’s an avid golfer, says he’s lived near Boerne and played the resort’s courses, always believing the complex "could be a real jewel."

The resort, founded in 1981, has three nine-hole courses and more than 100 hotel rooms.

I may have to round up a posse from the Business Golf Country Club, Business Golf Advisory Group, She Kan Golf and the Biz Golf Guru to go down there and put on a ClamBake Cafe Business Golf School.  Maybe George will play us a tune.

Business Golf Country Club member John Raser gets a breed, but important, role in commercial he did with Callaway.  We hope to see more from John in other commercials.

There was no way you could have missed Michael Breed at the 2011 PGA Merchandise Show and his demo of the Putting Cyclops training device.  I was jaw-dropped for ten minutes watching how the Putting Cyclops worked.

It took a bit to get through the crowds here at the PGA Merchandise Show but I finally made it to the Adams Golf booth.  I am not disappointed..they have some great stuff here..I say stuff because..geez..they have everything.

I visited with Lisa Weistart, Marketing and Public Relations for Adams Golf. 

I especially like the New Adams Speedline Fairway Wood… the company line is..

WOW, is this place huge or what..the fashion section of the 2011 PGA Merchandise Show looks like the Galleria in Dallas…except this is better since it is all GOLF.

My mission was to find one of the golf apparel companies that offered something off beat but ultra cool.  Of course, the women appeal is the less boring so naturally I honed in on Nivosport.  When it comes to women’s golf apparel I am sure TheGolfGirl, Patricia Hannigan, would have more to say, but to me I Liked Nivosport.
