The Green is Fading Quickly off the Golf Course Business
As is predicted, there will be a number of golf courses go bankrupt primarily due to the developers of the community being more interested in meeting the demand people, not golfers, who want to own golf courses lots. In my golf community over 65% of the people who live on the golf course do not play golf and bought the golf course property so there would not be anyone building behind them. This is not helping golf, is it?
“Lots of developers built golf courses in their communities, not because of the demand for golf, but because of the demand for golf course lots,” Joe Guerra, founder, president and CEO of Sequoia Golf Holdings LLC said. “We’re going to see a number of golf courses go fallow, because there is no demand for them.”
